PROCESS OPERATOR II (MATERIAL HANDLER) Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Previous Fork Lift experience required and must be able to complete fork lift (re)certification. Read and follow daily production schedule and instructions. Prepare packaging materials by retrieving items from storage, applying labels to containers, setting up and loading filling machines, stacking and palletizing products. Operate various automatic and manual packaging machines, scales and printing devices, industrial lift trucks, pallet jacks and other material handling tools and equipment. Maintain accurate written and electronic records as required by specific tasks. Assist other operators as directed by supervisors. Communicate immediately to Operators, Supervisors, or any member of management all circumstances which may affect quality or are considered questionable and unsafe. Maintain a clean, safe and orderly work environment by properly identifying and storing ingredients, supplies and products as directed by supervisors. Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, safety rules and instructions. Continuous Improvement: • Actively support the identification and elimination of waste with the objective of achieving a process which flows the product at the pull rate of the customer. • Submit continuous improvement suggestions. Requirements: Previous Fork Lift experience required and must be able to complete fork lift certification. Restart after power failures.   Able to read and understands Honeywell chart paper recorder on control panel and knowledge of supervisory computer handling furnace loads.   Knowledge of MSA gas analyzer calibration.   Knowledge of functions and able to perform complex functions of UDC computer and supervisory computer in manual mode. *Able to down load UDC 9000 computer through supervisory computer when it goes blank, performed or assisted by Salem Furnace Co.
