Location: TRT Holdings, Inc. is a privately-owned, diversified, Texas-based holding company with primary interests in hospitality, energy, fitness, and real estate. TRT owns the Omni Hotel chain, with nearly 60 luxury hotels located primarily in the United States. In addition, TRT owns Gold's Gym International, an operator and franchisor of more than 650 fitness centers in over 30 countries; and is involved in oil and gas exploration and production through its ownership of Tana Exploration. Job Description: The Paralegal will provide assistance to attorneys and other legal support staff, working under the supervision of the Senior Paralegal, to support the operating businesses of TRT Holdings, Inc., which include Omni Hotels & Resorts, Gold's Gym, Tana Exploration, and Origins Behavioral HealthCare. Responsibilities: Ability to handle multiple projects with limited supervision, work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and be a strong team player with the willingness to take initiative; Excellent organizing skills for electronic and hard copy files; Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, FileBound (document management system), and Adobe Acrobat; Ability to quickly perform tasks with minimum supervision; Excellent written and oral communication skills including the ability to draft professional correspondence; Excellent interpersonal skills; Ability to effectively work in an environment in which you will be exposed to confidential information and documents; Detail oriented with superior proof reading skills; Experience in litigation process; Experience in the real estate and/or construction fields; Ability to work independently with minimal direction as well as in a team environment; Approachable and patient with internal clients; with passion for providing excellent customer service Ability to adapt as necessary and establish and maintain effective and professional working relationships with co-workers, in-house attorneys, and members of the various business units Qualifications: Interact with operational teams and third parties in a professional manner consistent with TRT's high standards; Conduct research and investigations to gather facts to assist with demand letters and litigation; Coordinate discovery responses including gathering documents and information, coordinating witnesses for interviews, depositions, trials, etc.; Gather documents to respond to third party subpoenas and search warrants; Manage garnishments, including transmittal to relevant company payroll departments; Prepare legal holds and track acknowledgements; Work with the IT department and various operation teams to ensure the preservation of electronic and hard copy data; Update and maintain litigation database; Assist in drafting and maintaining corporate minutes and resolutions; Assist with trademark and licensing issues, including preparation of cease and desist letters and preparing for the annual trademark meeting; Prepare closing binders and related hardcopy and electronic files; Assist in handling liquor license issues; Review and revise various agreements for operations; Maintain form files for various contracts and other frequently used documents; Calendar litigation deadlines and maintain ticklers; Draft tender letters and tender claims and lawsuits to insurance providers and outside counsel per attorneys' direction; Act as liaison between operations and counsel regarding operation teams' legal questions; Draft demand letters for collection issues, as well as monitor and discuss options for resolution; Prepare small claims lawsuits, including filling out claim paperwork, organizing and gathering evidence and advising field on steps needed to pursue; Assist in preparing associates if subpoenaed for testimony.
