**The role you’ll contribute:**

The Director of Community Benefit has responsibility for the Corporate Community Benefit and Community Engagement teams, works closely with the Executive Director in executing the Community Advocacy strategy for the system, and serves as a strategic partner and thought leader for community benefit teams systemwide. This role will drive and enhance community involvement and engagement, community health needs assessment and community health plan processes, community resource network development, and community benefit reporting. With a keen focus on social determinants of health, this role works closely with community benefit team members across the system to elevate and enhance our community health improvement efforts in order to protect the tax-exempt status of the organization, as well as fulfill our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ into the community. The Director will communicate and align Corporate strategies and initiatives across markets. This role will partner with various Corporate teams (Mission, Health Equity, etc.) and Directors of Community Benefit in the markets to ensure community benefit team efforts are in alignment with system goals and efforts

**The value that you bring to the team:**

· Strategic Planning for Community Health Improvement

· Responsible for ensuring and assisting all campuses to correctly follow the Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) process. Aids in the creation, review and tracking of Community Health Plans (CHP) for every campus and regularly reviews progress with campus leadership. Leads team responsible for tracking and reporting CHNA/CHP work system-wide to ensure compliance with AdventHealth policy and regulatory standards.

· Lead Community Engagement and Involvement strategies for the system, as well as the Corporate campus, including Board Engagement, Team Member Volunteerism (Care Crew) and the Community Referral Network

· Provide program leadership to address the social determinants of health through community benefit work efforts, community resource network referrals, setting priorities and aligning programs to amplify health outcomes.

· Lead team responsible for any corporate community grant programs and initiatives to further community health in our markets

· Lead the development of systems with Corporate Analytics and data consulting teams to allow for easy access and sharing of community data, ROI, evidence-based best practices and innovations to address identified community health needs

· Leverage data to support community benefit expenditures and implementation strategies to align with the organization's strategic priorities

· Provide oversight to creation and deployment of the system's annual community benefit report, as well as division and regional breakdowns

· Participate in system-wide efforts to identify, prioritize, measure, and track mission integration goals and strategies that align with AdventHealth including community health, health equity, social determinants of health, and economic development

· Partner with key internal hospital and health system clinical leaders and administrators to strengthen community health outreach, with special focus on underserved populations (e.g. Population Health, Mission, Health Equity, AIT, etc.)

· Support the Executive Director in the development and implementation of ongoing Community Advocacy communication for Senior Leadership at AdventHealth and in all AdventHealth hospitals

· Support the Executive Director in managing the Community Advocacy budget

· Educate and advise corporate and market leadership, employees and board members about community advocacy initiatives and requirements

· Data Collection, Reporting and Evaluation

· Leads team responsible for all aspects of community benefit reporting (cash & in-kind) in CBISA software as required by corporate policy, per IRS regulatory guidelines.

· Develop and implement system of collection and tracking of all Community Benefit and Engagement activities within AdventHealth, working to drive accurate Community Benefit reporting

· This is to include a regular audit process to ensure accuracy and a regular cadence of reporting, as well as a strategy to share with CEOs and key leaders.

· Develop and implements a framework for evaluating health outcomes data to report progress and provide evaluation of community health improvement goals

· Partners closely with Finance and Tax teams to ensure accurate reporting, continued engagement and education with market finance leadership and alignment of CB reporting efforts systemwide

**The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed** **:**

· Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, public health, business administration, public relations or related field

· Five years of experience with a full range of business functions and systems, including strategic development and planning, budgeting, business analysis, finance, information systems, human resources, and marketing

· Prior experience working with both internal and external executive level teams, community leaders, and political representatives

· Proven track record of collaboration, exceeding goals, and leading high-performing teams

**Preferred Qualifications** **:**

· Master’s degree in public health, public policy or related field.

· Ability to build consensus and alignment across systems without formal reporting structures

· Experience in Government/public affairs, nonprofit sector and/or corporate communications
