Senior Finance Manager - Capacity Strategy

The team’s charter is to build out end to end Microsoft Cloud Infrastructure while driving down unit cost of capacity, ensuring cloud services achieve both profit and gross margin growth. As a crucial member of the team, you’ll also support long term bets and drive competitive intelligence to keep Microsoft Cloud ahead of competition. All while enhancing transparency into Cloud Infrastructure investments, safeguarding shareholder interest.

The Commerce + Ecosystems team within Margin Strategy & Investment Optimization (MSIO) provides end-to-end business health oversight, investment optimization and enables strategic business decisions for the engineering org responsible for enabling and optimizing the end-to-end customer journey on the Microsoft Cloud.

We are looking for a highly motivated **Senior Finance Manager - Capacity Strategy** to partner with engineering and business leaders to deeply understand, influence, and manage the Azure capacity investment for Commerce + Ecosystem including Azure Benefits programs across Microsoft. To be successful, the individual needs to be highly collaborative, self-motivated and curious.

**Responsibilities**

+ Provides business leader support and actionable insights during financial close periods. Reviews recurring financial reporting and presentations. Identifies trends and formulates action plans. Identifies variance causes and solutions. Collaborates to ensure execution of plans and accountability for results.

+ Delivers analysis, modeling, and research to support preliminary and adjusted forecast cycles. Assists in the execution of annual business planning and forecasting process. Partners and solicits insight from engineering and finance stakeholders.

+ Model savings efficiencies and size investment opportunities and Return on Investment/Lifetime Value: Customer Acquisition Cost (ROI/LTV:CAC). Partner with Engineering and Revenue finance to ensure that business investment decisions are aligned to long-term profitability benchmarks.

+ Guide process optimization and simplification, improving efficiency and effectiveness of core finance activities and reporting through automation, data visualization, process excellence and analytics.

+ Communicates results in a compelling and understandable message. Articulates understanding and awareness of business partner situation.

+ Provides advice and direction to teammates and peers on data management and operations.

**Qualifications**

**Required/Minimum Qualifications:**

+ Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related field AND 4+ years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience

+ OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related field and 2+ years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience

+ OR equivalent experience.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Demonstrated ability to form and influence cross-functional partnerships to deliver high-value projects both as an individual and through v-teams with business partnering skills

+ Partnering capabilities, with the ability to influence others without direct authority and appropriately push back when required.

+ Proven data and financial modeling capabilities and ability to work with financial systems

+ Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines, quickly prioritize for impact and the resourcefulness to deliver

+ Comfort working at multiple altitudes, from strategic/high-level projected to detailed process implementation

Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,600 - $183,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $122,000 - $200,500 per year.
