POSITION SUMMARY: The Receptionist is responsible for greeting and appropriately directing patients/visitors/guests while treating medical center staff, visitors, physicians, patients and families in a professional and courteous manner. Consistently displays a positive attitude in the work environment and conducts self in a calm, professional manner during stressful situations.
• Greets clients, visitors, and guests; determines the purpose of each person’s visit and directs or escorts him or her to the appropriate location.
• Answers, screens, and directs phone calls to staff; takes messages and schedules appointments.
• Receives mail, documents, packages, and courier deliveries and delivers or distributes items.
• Performs administrative and clerical support tasks.
• Performs basic filing and recordkeeping.
• Performs other duties.
COMPETENCIES:
A. Education: High school diploma.
B. Knowledge: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
C. Skills:
a. Strong interpersonal skills are required to interact with Hospital administration, staff, patients and families, as well as to handle confidential and sensitive information.
b. Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze and solve problems.
c. Ability to plan, organize, complete and manage programs in the most efficient manner.
D. Required Licensure, Certification: None
E. Work Experience: 0-2 years of experience required.
F. Machines, Tools, Equipment: Personal computer and office automation equipment
Salary Range: Minimum 16.86 per hour - Maximum 27.84 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
