Senior Packaging Automation Engineer

As a Senior Packaging Automation Engineer, you will be accountable for providing the necessary direction and leadership to ensure technical success and technical performance across our Packing and Warehouse Automation platforms. In this role, you will significantly define our Automation Program and Warehouse Material Handling future concepts, including preparation for regional scalability and standardization.

This position is part of our Locate for Your Day program. Location options for this role are Cary, Jackson, Rome, Grand Rapids, Chicago, and Battle Creek. Travel to our project locations is estimated at 30%—50%.

A Taste of What You’ll Be Doing

+ Project Execution – Develop initial scopes, ballpark cost, charters, stage gate reviews, business alignment, technical specifications, operational performance criteria, and final cost estimates, and assist installation and equipment startup of warehouse and distribution center-related capital projects. Work with ‘ Global Technology Owners ’ to identify and align standard equipment menu ’ s for Packaging/Warehouse Equipment types and operating principles. Lead automation/warehouse/distribution center Communities of Practice.

+ Partnering with the Business – Build partnerships with our Supply Chain, Engineering & KWS ( “ K ” Work Systems) teams to identify the opportunities where Warehouse and Material Handling Automation can add value, increase productivity & reduce risk. Balance creative, non-constrained concepts for the ‘ Automated Material Handling Lines of the future ’ with practical experience and data-based decisions to identify opportunities to increase productivity across the existing install base.

+ Enhance Technology Performance & Standardization – Develop key strategic relationships with OEMs. Define and align global standards for Packaging and Warehouse Automation. Lead breakthrough technology development.

We’re Looking for Someone With

+ Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 8-10+ years of technical experience with relevant Technology OR Significant technical experience 10+ years with relevant technology

+ Experience driving transformational change within manufacturing environments df

+ Experience working closely with engineering/operations/maintenance functions in a manufacturing environment

+ Demonstrated ability to work globally, guiding and influencing across all regional teams and many capital projects

Compensation

The annual salary range is $130,500 - $171,255, which is based on various factors such as location, experience and skill. Discretionary bonuses based on company and individual performance are also available.
