The Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Platform Engineer, role is responsible for implementation and support of GCP infrastructure and solutions. The ideal candidate is responsible for design, implementing and supporting GCP solutions including platform architectures, Operations & Support, Automation & DevOps, Security & Compliance. The GCP Platform Engineer will work with client stakeholders and Accenture teams to implement state-of-the-art, scalable, high performance solutions that meet the need of today’s corporate and emerging digital applications.
Key responsibilities may include:
· Cloud Architecture & Design:
+ Collaborate with architects and engineers to design and implement GCP solutions that align with business requirements and best practices
+ Design and build scalable, highly available, and secure cloud infrastructure using GCP services
+ Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Deployment Manager
+ Implement cost optimization strategies and monitor cloud spending
· Cloud Operations & Support:
+ Manage and monitor GCP resources, including compute, storage, networking, and databases
+ Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure issues in a timely manner
+ Implement and maintain monitoring and alerting systems to ensure proactive identification of potential problems
+ Participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical cloud infrastructure
· Automation & DevOps:
+ Develop and implement automation scripts and tools to streamline cloud operations
+ Champion a DevOps culture and collaborate with development teams to implement CI/CD pipelines
+ Continuously evaluate and implement new technologies and tools to improve cloud infrastructure efficiency
· Security & Compliance:
+ Implement and maintain security best practices for GCP infrastructure
+ Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies
+ Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
Travel may be required for this role. The amount of travel will vary from 25% to 100% depending on business need and client requirements.
Qualifications:
+ Minimum of 5 years of technical solutions implementation, architecture design, evaluation, and investigation in a cloud environment.
+ Minimum of 2 years of experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
+ Experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Deployment Manager
+ Experience in GCP services such as: Compute Engine, App Engine, Kubernetes, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Cloud Spanner, Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, Cloud Pub/Sub, Cloud Monitoring, and Cloud Logging
+ Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience. (If Associate’s Degree, must have a minimum 6 years work experience)
+ Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
+ Strong communication and collaboration abilities
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
+ Passion for learning and staying up-to-date with cloud technologies
Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
