BAE s Space and Mission Systems (SMS) sector is seeking our next Director - Program Excellence to oversee and enhance the program management function across the sector. This role is pivotal in the success of program execution, driving continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring program success through effective leadership, strategic oversight and implementation of industry best practices. The Director - Program Excellence will be the Program Management Authority (PMA) delegate on behalf of the VP of Enterprise Assurance.
The Enterprise Assurance Strategic Capabilities Unit delivers critical assurance disciplines that protect and enable people, data and missions. We provide a comprehensive approach to managing risk across the enterprise for current and future information environments where the business and missions execute. We apply the use of innovative tools and robust processes to ensure mission and business success.
**What You ll Do:**
+ Provide strategic oversight and leadership to the program management function, ensuring alignment with company goals and customer expectations.
+ Lead the Program Management Support Office (PMSO), a small team responsible for developing, streamlining and maintaining program management guidelines, competency frameworks, and training programs.
+ Drive lifecycle management (LCM) reviews and support program teams during critical phases such as proposal development, project initiation, and production transition.
+ Champion sector initiatives including PM competency, earned value management and performance recovery.
+ Lead the Program Management Council collaborating with senior executives and functional representatives to shape strategic improvements and build cross business area connections.

+ Foster a culture of continuous improvement and digital transformation within program management organizations.
+ Collaborate with Capture Management teams to implement best practices in proposal management.
+ Deliver executive-level briefings to internal stakeholders and external customers.
+ Represent SMS sector on BAE Program Management Councils
+ Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
+ Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
+ Perform other duties as necessary.
**On-Site Work Environment:** This position requires regular in-person engagement by working **on-site five days** each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
**Working Conditions:**
+ Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.
**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ BS/BA degree plus 12 years or more related experience.
+ Eachhigher-level degree, i.e., Master s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
+ A current, active Top Secret Security clearance is required.
+ Deep understanding of program management lifecycle across defense, commercial, and international contracts.
+ Proficiency in DoD, NASA, and Intelligence Community acquisition processes and environments.
+ Proven track record of implementing continuous improvement and driving change.
+ Experience in developing program management training and adult learning techniques.
+ Solid leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence and achieve results.
**Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or equivalent.
+ Familiarity with BAE Systems' product portfolio and technologies.
+ Experience collaborating in matrixed organizational structures.
+ MBA degree.
**Pay Information**
Full-Time Salary Range: $164000.000 - $278800.000
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
