Senior Information Security Engineer

Wells Fargo is seeking a motivated senior information security engineer to join an exciting, fast paced team working on cutting edge next generation firewall and security management technologies. This role will be a senior contributor to firewall engineering teams that design, deploy, maintain, and automate network security infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in design, deployment, and operational maintenance of next generation firewall management technologies. Additionally, the candidate should have demonstrated experience in automating processes including product builds, patching, and operational maintenance.

**Job Description**

The Senior Information Security Engineer will:

+ Lead or participate in computer security and operational incident response activities

+ Conduct technical investigation of security related incidents and post incident digital forensics to identify causes and recommend future mitigation strategies

+ Design, document, test, maintain, and provide issue resolution recommendations for moderately complex security solutions related to firewalls and firewall management systems

+ Design, document, test, maintain, and implement solutions for automating security tools and firewall management systems

+ Identify security vulnerabilities and issues, perform risk assessments, and evaluate remediation alternatives

+ Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals

**Minimum Qualifications**

+ 5+ years of information security engineering experience

+ 3+ years' experience managing Next-Generation Firewall technologies (Palo Alto, Fortinet, etc.)

+ 2+ years' experience in designing, deploying, managing, and troubleshooting complex NGFW solutions in large environments

+ 2+ years' experience in using automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, XSOAR, Skybox, etc)

+ Knowledge of programming and scripting languages (Python).

+ Fundamental knowledge of networks and networking

+ Advanced knowledge of information security and security principles

+ Willingness to work evenings and weekends when needed

**Preferred Skills**

+ Automation Platforms: Experience with automation platforms (such as Ansible, Puppet, etc)

+ Automation & Scripting: Proficient in scripting languages, particularly Python, for automating security tasks related to firewall management, log analysis, and incident response. Experience with additional scripting languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell) is a plus

+ Cloud Security: Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their native security controls. Familiarity with cloud security best practices and tools

+ Industry recognized security certifications

+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to articulate technical issues to non-technical stakeholders
