Research Engineer

We are looking to add a Research Engineer to our wonderful team.

**A caregiver in this position works 8:00am-5:00pm.**

**Responsibilities:**

+ Performs routine engineering investigations in support of current research or product development efforts using engineering software analysis tools.

+ Prepares design sketches or drawings for components, sub-assemblies, processes or equipment using CAD or 3-D solid modeling software.

+ Assists with the design, development, and evaluation of prototype medical devices, equipment, and software.

+ Assists with preparation and evaluation of test protocols and test specimens.

+ Prepares charts, graphs and documentation in support of articles for publication, project reports and grant applications.

+ Other duties as assigned.

**Education:**

+ Bachelor's of Science degree in biomedical/mechanical/ electrical engineering or related field required.

**Complexity of Work:**

+ Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

+ Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

+ Previous experience and co-op or internship preferred.

**Physical Requirements:**

+ Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods

+ Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment

+ Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information

+ Ability to distinguish color

+ Manual dexterity to handle specimens and repair equipment

+ Ability to lift and transport equipment or specimens weighing up to 20 pounds

+ May be exposed to hazardous chemicals, bio-hazards, radioactive materials, etc.

**Personal Protective Equipment:**

+ Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $27.65

Maximum hourly: $42.17

A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set, and education.
