Lead Software Engineer - Java Backend for Authentication

As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Sector and Fraud Risk technology, you will play a crucial role in an agile team, focusing on the enhancement, construction, and delivery of trusted, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. As a key technical contributor, your responsibilities will include developing critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions, all in support of the firm's business objectives.

Job responsibilities

+ Proficient in design patterns like Microservices, APIs.

+ Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.

+ Expertise building and operating large-scale high-performance environments with distributed systems and cloud technologies (AWS, Kubernetes, etc.).

+ Work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals.

+ Experience with developing large scale platforms with strong understanding of complex distributed systems running on hybrid infrastructure (on premises, private and private cloud environments).

+ Excellent communication skills and ability to present to and communicate effectively with key stakeholders across product, technology, data and design.

+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.

+ Evaluate sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture.

+ Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think.

+ Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

+ Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.

+ 8+ years' experience in design, develop, and maintain robust applications specifically using Java 21 and Spring Boot.

+ Strong understanding of Kafka.

+ Work with Cassandra/Oracle databases to ensure data integrity and performance.

+ Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.

+ Experience in Service-oriented architecture and familiarity with different design and architectural patterns.

+ Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods.

+ Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.

+ Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.

+ Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.).

+ Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.

Preferred qualifications:

+ AWS experience.

+ knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems.

+ Practical cloud native experience.

+ Experience with implementing industry standard cybersecurity & technology controls.

+ In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems.

+ Implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests.
