**JOB SUMMARY**
Location BSWH BUMC Downtown Dallas TX
Department IHC Histopathology
Shift Day 10:30am - 7:00pm Monday - Friday
BUMC IHC (Immunohistochemisty) department has a staff of 5 FTE that work together as a Team performing over 500 different IHC protocols. The candidate must have a strong knowledge of Immunohistochemisty with the ability to perform Quality Assurances steps on the protocols performed. They must have a working knowledge of performing Titer dilutions on concentrated antibodies and have the ability to construct a multitissue control block using the Tissue Microarray technique
The Histotechnologist prepares specimens for microscopic evaluation and diagnosis by performing technical procedures that result in creation of microscopic slide preparation. Operates and maintains Laboratory instrumentation, records and documentation with minimum supervision.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE**
+ Perform variety of technical procedures resulting in creation of microscopic slide preparations.
+ Follow quality control, quality assurance, safety, and infection control procedures.
+ Perform instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
+ Maintain appropriate inventory of supplies.
+ Maintain effective communication and working relationships with all laboratory personnel, other disciplines, and external customers.
+ Participate in laboratory projects and educational activities.
+ Demonstrates and educates laboratory methods and technical skills to others.

+ EDUCATION - Bachelor's or 4 years of work experience above the minimum qualification
+ EXPERIENCE - Less than 1 Year of Experience
