**Job Description:**
Join **General Dynamics IT** and be a part of a team that solve some of the world's most complex technical challenges. We are seeking a **Database Administrator Expert** to help support a new award opportunity in **Northern Virginia.**
This program provides enterprise-wide IT support to enable the customer to consolidate, modernize, and continuously innovate the delivery of IT services and mission capabilities. These services will deliver exceptional execution value to internal and external mission partners operating in CONUS and OCONUS locations.
As the **Oracle Database Administrator Expert** , you support large and complex Oracle database implementations. You will also be responsible for staffing Database personnel and coordinating with key functional leads – ie Architecture Lead, Engineering Lead, Infrastructure Services Lead, Service Desk Lead, etc.
You will supervise and manage the following tasks:
+ The Database Administrator Lead shall serve as the key-person for database service delivery and provide subject-matter expertise and technical oversight of team members for database related activities throughout program.
+ Install Oracle database products.
+ Ensure Backup and recovery of database systems.
+ Perform Database Standby and Failover Administration.
+ Administer Oracle’s Clusterware in a multi-node environment using Real Application Clusters (RAC).
+ Perform Database upgrades and migrations.
+ Perform periodic disaster recovery drills.
+ Apply security updates per published Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIGs).
+ Open and Respond to Service Requests as needed.
+ Evaluate and ensures team’s changes are in accordance with appropriate operating procedures; recommend revisions or changes based upon results.
+ Assist team members on the development and analysis of system standards, thresholds and recommendations to maximize system performance.
+ Train, mentor, and motivate team to meet individual, team and contractual obligations and thresholds while ensuring individual career growth and development.
+ Establish team goals and strategy to evolve the team towards best in class/industry standards from a performance and customer satisfaction standpoint.
+ Prepare reports and/or makes recommendations regarding new technology to senior leadership.
**Basic Qualifications:**
+ **BS degree**
+ **10+ years of experience** administering Oracle databases including Oracle Standby, Oracle Clusterware and supporting Oracle database implementations.
+ **Linux Administration**
+ **One or more DoD 8140.01 certifications**
+ **Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)** certification.
+ **TS/SCI**

The likely salary range for this position is $154,960 - $207,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
