Intern- Sales and Marketing

Johns Hopkins HealthCare Solutions is a business unit within Johns Hopkins Health Plans focused on cultivating the best of Johns Hopkins science to take to the market. We help employers, health systems, payers, data analytics companies, and governments to improve the health and well-being their populations, worldwide.

Solutions serves a unique role within Johns Hopkins, partnering with expert faculty to pioneer new products to improve population health, from, leading employer on-site clinics best-in-class oncology support and navigation programs, and world-leading population health analytics through the ACG System, among others. Our team, supported by a wide range of Johns Hopkins experts and faculty, dives deeply into clients’ health care needs and goals and offers unique solutions, incorporating physical, behavioral, and social risk factors, to benefit population and individual health and well-being.

  • Hybrid role- mostly remote, but local candidate has the opportunity to work on site the 2nd Weds of the month-Hanover, MD
  • Flexible hours- 19 hours per week, between the hours of 9am-4pm M-F, can work around class schedules
  • Position will last 12 weeks

As a Intern, you’ll:

  • Support business development and sales, as well as marketing as needed
  • Engage in sales prospecting and outreach
  • Research, vet and prioritize leads Customize sales pitch materials
  • Support sales manager by scheduling and preparing for discovery calls
  • Learn Salesforce software and actively use it for lead management

What you’ll bring:

  • Must be pursuing a degree in a Healthcare or a Business related field
  • Proactive and Self-Motivated: driven and able to take initiative in supporting prospecting, outreach, and lead research without constant supervision.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Effective communication is critical, as you will engage in outreach and support discovery calls. You should be able to write clear, persuasive emails and contribute to pitch materials.
  • Attention to Detail: When vetting leads or customizing sales pitches, you must ensure accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Research-Oriented: A strong ability to research and analyze potential leads, market trends, and competitor activity will be valuable in prioritizing and qualifying prospects.
  • Technology-Savvy: Quick to learn Salesforce for lead management and tracking activities.
  • Organized and Efficient: Since you will assist with scheduling, preparing for discovery calls, and managing CRM data, good organizational skills are key.
  • Collaborative Team Player: Able to work well with the sales manager and other team members, demonstrating a willingness to learn and contribute.

Salary Range: Minimum 19.00 per hour - Maximum 19.00 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
