Manager Patient Access

This position is responsible for the management of a unit or department to include the management and direction of operations for all department employees.

**This position is remote, however we will require candidates to live in Denver area as you will be rounding with the medical clinics in CO.**

The Patient Access Manager is an integral part of the patient care team in the clinic /service area and is responsible for the implementation and support of revenue cycle front end related activities with a focus on patient access activities; loss prevention activities (denial prevention; cash collections; referral and order management etc) and coordination with the clinical teams.

This position will operate as a subject matter expert in specific activities included in, but not limited to, patient registration, scheduling, check-in/check-out, point of service collections; cash management, referral management, financial counseling and clearance of patients, authorizations and referrals for procedures and services as well as patient and workflow coordination.

Some specific duties of this role will include:

Develop and implement strategies to improve the Patient Access work culture including comprehensive training and skill development.

Work with Clinic personnel to optimize and standardize scheduling, check-in, check-out, and financial service activities within the clinic / department.

Actively participate on committees to achieve efficiencies and desired outcomes; ensure follow-up on action plans (operating processes, policies and procedures, denial prevention, revenue enhancements) and monitor success.

Monitor quality and manage workload to include patient work queue, claim edit, referral and order work queue management.

Communicate and model the values of SCL Health and MGPS through orientation, development, mentoring, performance feedback, leadership rounding and evaluation of staff.

Works with Clinic Managers to ensure functions related to front end activities are operating in optimal performance.

Works with Clinic Managers to plan and implement strategies relative to front end activities.

Maintain liaison with medical and other professional and departmental staff in administering policies and procedures regarding revenue cycle activities, patient access and flow.

Resolve issues relating to patient access (clinic) services and processes.

Enforce regulatory and compliance requirements (HIPPA, JCAHO, etc). Accountable for understanding, enforcing and following all internal controls, particularly as they relate to cash management policies and procedures

Minimum Qualifications

- High school Diploma or equivalent; Bachelors level degree is preferred.

Three (3) years of related work experience is required. Bachelors degree may substitute for two years of the required experience. Two (2) years of supervisory experience is required.

**Physical Requirements:**

Interact with others by effectively communicating, both orally and in writing.- and -Operate computers and other office equipment requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.- and -See and read computer monitors and documents.- and -Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.- and -May require lifting and transporting objects and office supplies, bending, kneeling and reaching.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$28.75 - $48.00
