Manager, Data Governance

**Position Purpose:** The Manager, Data Governance drives the execution and adherence to the Enterprise Data Governance strategy and framework. This position aligns Corporate Business Units, Health Plans, Specialty Companies, and IT, to achieve the required level of consistency, quality and protection to meet overall business objectives.

+ Support and manage the enterprise data governance vision, strategy, framework, and implementation roadmap

+ Define clear responsibilities and accountability for data stewards

+ Define and document data owners, application owners, and product owners

+ Establish a process for owner change management

+ Oversee data stewardship initiatives

+ Maintain inventory of the enterprise information maps, definitions, reference data, including source systems

+ Facilitate the development and implementation of data quality standards, data policies, data protection standards and adoption requirements across the enterprise

+ Aid in defining indicators of performance and quality metrics

+ Conducting analysis through the use of queries for discovery or problem solving

+ Profiling data as needed to drive identification of performance indicators

+ Align compliance with data related policies, standards, roles and responsibilities, and adoption requirements

+ Coordinate external data sources to eliminate redundancy and streamline the expense related to those services

+ Aid in defining metrics that show cost savings in initiatives completed by the data governance program

+ Aid in Data Catalog strategy and usage development

+ Aid in defining metrics in usage of Data Catalog

+ Audit usage of data catalog at least twice a year

+ Drive training efforts on Data Catalog and metadata management tools

+ Identify other training needs for data governance team and stewardship

+ For continuous improvement, seek feedback on data governance program through surveys, focus groups, and other modes of feedback collection

+ Up to 25% travel

+ Perform other duties as assigned

**Education/Experience:** Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information management, business, statistics, mathematics, health informatics, healthcare administration, finance or related field with 5+ years of related data experience or master's degree and 5+ years of experience. Previous experience as a lead in a functional area, managing cross-functional teams on large projects or other direct management/supervisory experience. Knowledge of data governance practices. Knowledge of business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets. Knowledge of data protection regulation. Strong aptitude for learning new tools and processes relevant to analysis, governance, and reporting on complex data in a dynamic environment. Ability to effectively manage multiple assignments with challenging timelines while maintaining high standards. Experience working with large databases, data verification, and data management. Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Demonstrated ability to independently develop complex queries using SQL or other coding languages. Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated ability in mentorship and growth of individual team members. Ability to recruit talent for technical and non-technical roles. Collaborate and build trust with business, IT, and internal team partners. Point of contact for escalation on data governance initiatives. Ability to get to the root of the problem and resolve in a timely fashion. Strong work ethic and integrity in leadership, working with areas of other departments, and within team. Results-oriented, lead data governance initiatives to completion. Provide team what is needed for completion in their areas. Ability to take charge and provide direction.

Pay Range: $103,500.00 - $191,600.00 per year

Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law. Total compensation may also include additional forms of incentives.
