Nurse Intern (PRN) Varied Shifts Emergency Dept - Lebanon, VA

SCOPE OF POSITION
The Nurse Intern II will work under the direction of experienced licensed nurses and clinical nursing leadership who have a variety of nursing related expertise and serve as the nursing intern preceptor. The rotation through selected clinical areas will assist the student in identifying professional development needs and future career opportunities. The Nurse Intern will complete assigned learning modules. The Nurse Intern II may take and give report, assess and document under the direct supervision of the RN Preceptor. Nurse Intern II will be directly supervised by an assigned RN preceptor in performing delegated tasks at the discretion of the RN preceptor based on the assessment of the skill and knowledge level of the Nurse Intern II. The RN preceptor must co-sign the intern’s activities. Medication administration may be observed but, no medications are to be administered by the Nurse Intern II. Nurse Intern II’s are able to care for patients with varying levels of illness under the direction of an RN.

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE
Must be within two semesters of RN graduation and have a minimum 2.75 GPA in Nursing Curriculum to qualify for this position. Current team members in good standing without evidence of active written corrective action and with a GPA of 2.5 or above in Nursing Curriculum will be considered for this position.
