Northrop Grumman, Space Systems, is seeking an **Engineering Technician 2/3** to join our team. This position will be supporting the Propulsion Systems Division located at our **Bacchus Plant** location in **Magna, UT.**
**Engineering Test Technicians** perform hands-on activities and tasks associated with electrical and mechanical systems working with a variety of departments to complete complex tasks unique to the Engineering Test team. These functions include assembly and installation of test instrumentation, rocket motor ordnance, transportation environmental monitoring, trajectory control systems and performing lifting equipment load testing. Technicians are also responsible for the associated system’s application, assembly, and check-out operations, including electronic configuration and programming. Activities include mechanical assembly, soldering, potting, wiring, using hand tools, multi-meters, and specialized testing equipment as well as working directly with Engineers.
**Engineering Technicians** participate as a team member to positively influence and enhance the safety, quality, cost, and scheduling of their team. Candidate must be well organized and able to follow and execute compliance to both written and computer-based detailed planning instructions.
**Role description & Responsibilities:**
• Work on various projects as assigned to help improve process and team environment.
• The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels.
• Compiles reports, data, planning, certifications, and other items to comply with internal and customer hardware packages that will be presented to outside customers for review acceptance.
• Candidates must be highly organized, attentive to detail, possess strong computer and communication skills.
• Perform construction and wiring of test fixtures and test chassis working from drawings, schematics and instructions.
• This role will report on-site daily to our Bacchus Plant in Magna, UT. Some domestic travel may be required. This in an onsite position, with no work from home options at the present.
**Basic Qualifications:**
**This position can be filled at either a level 2 or level 3.**
**Basic Qualifications for a Level 2:**
• High school diploma or GED and 2 years of relevant experience OR associate’s degree/certificate in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) and 0 years of relevant experience.
• Previous experience gathering, maintaining and compiling technical data.
• Able to read engineering documentation and reports including drawings and schematics.
• Capability to understand and follow electronic work instruction documents.
• Ability to read, clearly interpret and accurately follow standard work and other written instructions.
• Capable of the use of calibrated measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, and electrical meters.
• Proficient with manual and power tools.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
**Basic Qualifications for a Level 3:**
• High school diploma or GED and 4 years of relevant experience OR associate’s degree/certificate in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) and 2 years of relevant experience.
• Previous experience gathering, maintaining and compiling technical data.
• Able to read engineering documentation and reports including drawings and schematics.
• Capability to understand and follow electronic work instruction documents.
• Ability to read, clearly interpret and accurately follow standard work and other written instructions.
• Capable of the use of calibrated measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, and electrical meters.
• Proficient with manual and power tools.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
• Knowledge or experience with explosives or energetic assembly and testing.
• Experience in aerospace or aviation hardware processing.
• Proficiency with hands-on mechanical assembly, ordnance handling, and ordnance system testing.
• A current and active DoD Secret level security clearance with a periodic re-investigation OR an original adjudication date completed within the last 5 years.
**Salary Range:** $45,800 - $76,300
**Salary Range 2:** $54,400 - $90,600
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
