**Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS)** is seeking an **International Business Development Director** onsite in **McLean, VA or Baltimore, MD.** Full-time remote work or hybrid teleworking from any US state will also be considered. The primary scope of this job is to support successful execution and management of ongoing NGMS International Business Development to support promotion of new NGMS products and capabilities to our international customers.

**What You'll Get to Do:**

The International Business Development Director will be responsible for leading the development and execution of Export Policy Strategies, aligned to NGMS key technologies and programs. This effort will entail close coordination and collaboration with leaders and subject matter experts across the corporation, along with key US government agencies. This position will also have primary responsibility for working collaboratively with NGMS divisions in the development of our international growth strategy, including market and competitive analysis, strategic partnering, opportunity identification and qualification. The Director will be the primary focal point for consultant management across the sector, plus serve as the primary focal point for international tradeshows, senior customer engagement, and messaging. In support of these activities, the Director will supervise a team of regional analysts.

Specific business development and strategic planning responsibilities under this role’s leadership include, but are not limited to:

Customer Understanding & Analysis

+ Analyze international security environment and resulting future customer requirements.

+ Support robust competitive and market analysis and assessments to identify discriminators, support price-to-win activities, and determine resources required to execute new business development activities.

+ Collaborate with NGC International Government Relations on customer engagement strategies and execution.

US Export Policy

+ Lead development and execution of NGMS export policy strategy.

+ Serve as coordinator between NGC International Government Relations and NGMS divisions on export policy related issue.

+ Work collaboratively on development and submission of International Trade Compliance licenses.

New Business Leadership

+ Ensure new business activity is carried out in accordance with government, customer, and Northrop Grumman policies, procedures, and processes.

+ Develop and execute business development plans to influence all aspects of new business capture and Position-to-Win (PTW) through the Business Acquisition Process (BAP) execution - supporting opportunity identification and shaping, threat identification and mitigation, and associated mission area business analysis to drive recommendations.

Business Development and Strategic Planning

+ Support Divisions, Sector and Corporate Strategy teams to document respective strategic plans and ensure consistent and effective measurement of execution against commitments.

+ Ensure new business activity is carried out in accordance with government, customer, and Northrop Grumman policies, procedures, and processes.

+ Support industry teaming and collaboration across the business areas and industry teammates to accomplish strategic objectives for the mission area.

+ Work in partnership with global supply chain, program management, operations, and risk-management teams.

**Basic Qualifications:**

+ Bachelor’s Degree and 12 years of experience or Master’s Degree with 10 years of experience in the defense / aerospace business.

+ Demonstrated multi-disciplinary global business development, strategy development and/or capture experience.

+ Detailed understand of Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) processes.

+ Demonstrated people leadership skills; direct and indirect leadership of large teams; ability to work effectively in a team environment.

+ Proven ability to provide independent critical assessments, that ultimately result in better outcomes for the enterprise.

+ Proven highly effective executive communication, presentation, and influencing skills.

+ Must be able to travel as needed (up to 25% of the time).

+ US Citizenship.

+ Active DoD Secret security clearance (cannot be considered without an active clearance).

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Master’s Degree in technical/business field.

+ 15 years of industry experience in business development, capture leadership and/or program management.

+ Prior experience in US government export policy entity.

+ Previous Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibility.

+ Strategic planning, new business development, and investment planning.

+ Strong customer domain knowledge and a proven track record of sustained business growth.

+ Active DoD Top Secret.

**Salary Range:** $173,300 - $286,000

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
