**Responsibilities**

Provide evaluation of and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies.

+ Deliver and assess response to ordered therapy per plan of care.

+ Monitor, record and communicate patient condition.

+ Evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medications and treatment based on patient outcomes.

+ Respond to emergency resuscitation team calls.

+ Educate the patient and family about the patient's health condition and provide information about community support groups and other resources.

**Requirements**

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

+ Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.

+ BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

+ Pediatric Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.

+ One or more of the following required:

+ Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

+ Certified Respiratory Therapist obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

+ Associate's degree in Respiratory or RRT required.

**Additional Preferences**

+ 2 years critical care experience preferred

+ Arterial line and intubation competence preferred

+ Candidates willing to train in placement of advanced lines (ie arterial, mid-line /PICC) insertions preferred
