**Job Summary:**

JOB SUMMARY

The Financial Analyst position is ½ OPO invoicing, ½ journal entries involving actual to budget analysis, reconciliations, and assisting with budget/forecast.

Analyze and assist in the preparation of the departmental budget; conduct complex financial and budget analysis and enhance financial and related operational methods and activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

**1. Support Sr. Financial Manager in the development of annual budget and quarterly forecasts, analyzing past performance related to revenues and expenses.**

**Analyze financial data trending and provide forecast and budget support.**

**Utilize financial systems to research trending.**

**Other ad hoc analysis driving Budget and Forecast results.**

**2.Monitor and reconcile Transplant’s Organ Procurement (OPO) monthly invoicing and payments.**

**Prepare data sent to Core Finance Invoicing Team for generating OPO invoices.**

**Utilize Financial Systems to reconcile invoices, payments, and general ledger transactions.**

**Prepare monthly and quarterly reports outlining the distribution of the payments.**

**Reconcile transactions between Workday, Redcap, and Transplant.**

**3.Monthly Analysis and journal entries related to month-end close.**

**Generate monthly accrual journal entries and reversals related bonus accruals.**

**Generate monthly journal entries related to parental leave, section support, and other journal entries as needed.**

**Reconcile general ledger transactions to correct financial data in Workday.**

**Prepare supporting documents related to general journal entries into Workday.**

**4.Other dues as assigned.**

**Ensures compliance with appropriate laws, codes, rules, and regulations for appropriate records and audit trails.**

**Maintain confidentiality with respect to all financial data.**

TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES

• Accounting and Finance (Intermediate): Understanding of basic accounting principles (GAAP) necessary for month / year end close of financial statements and monthly analysis of operating performance.

• Project Management (Intermediate): Planning, organizing, and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives.

• Problem Solving (Intermediate): Uses critical thinking and process improvement i.e. coaches and mentors development of problem statement, describes current state, identifies root causes, creates future state, coaches and mentors development of solutions and action plans with a sustainability plan. Applies appropriate tools to address issues.

• Financial Analysis (Intermediate): The process of evaluating businesses, projects, budgets, etc. to determine their performance, stability and profitability.

• Written Communication (Intermediate): Demonstrates the ability to write clear, detailed, and comprehensive status reports, memos and documentation. Demonstrates an understanding of effective composition, such as having first line in a paragraph state the subject.

• Communication of Results (Intermediate): Communicates results and recommendations to customers in a concise and non-technical format. Clearly states implications and potential next steps. Presents analysis, ideas, and findings using the appropriate data visualization and presentation tools [such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint].

Work Experience:

Relevant work experience in both finance and accounting.

Experience Level:

Education: Bachelors in Finance or Accounting or equivalent work experience
