Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking to add an **Electronics Engineer OR Principal Electronics Engineer (Hardware Responsible Engineer)** to our Avionics Integration team.
This position can be based in Oklahoma City, OK; Melbourne, FL; or Palmdale, CA. Expected travel depends upon selected candidate’s location and is as follows:
+ Oklahoma City, OK – up to 25% travel
+ Melbourne, FL – up to 50% travel
+ Palmdale, CA – up to 50% travel
This position is responsible for the design, testing, issue resolution, and analysis of avionics subsystems and hardware on an existing platform.
**Essential Functions and Duties:**
+ Act as Responsible Engineer for Avionics Subsystem(s)
+ Design, analyze, configure, test, document, and troubleshoot Avionics subsystems and hardware
+ Document designs using detailed schematics, diagrams, and specifications
+ Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to implement subsystem performance and environmental requirements
+ Work to develop design solutions for obsolete hardware
_This position can be filled at either the Electronics Engineer (Hardware Responsible Engineer) OR the Principal Electronics Engineer (Hardware Responsible Engineer) level, depending upon the qualifications below._
**Basic Qualifications for Electronics Engineer (Hardware Responsible Engineer):**
+ Bachelor’s degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) discipline and 2 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of related engineering experience.
+ Demonstrated experience designing, configuring, and/or installing avionics subsystems
+ Active, in-scope DoD Secret clearance
+ Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP). This SAP must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
**Basic Qualifications for Principal Electronics Engineer (Hardware Responsible Engineer):**
+ Bachelor’s degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) discipline and 5 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline with 0 years of related engineering experience.
+ Demonstrated experience designing, configuring, and/or installing avionics subsystems
+ Active, in-scope DoD Secret clearance
+ Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP). This SAP must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
**Preferred Qualifications for both levels:**
+ Current Special Program Access
+ Bachelors/Masters/PhD in an Engineering discipline
+ Demonstrated experience with Avionics Hardware Design
Salary Range: $73,100.00 - $134,200.00Salary Range 2: $135,500.00 - $165,500.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
