CTG is seeking to fill a Senior Packaging Scientist job for our client in Pleasanton, CA.
**Location:** Pleasanton, CA
**Duration:** 6 months
**Duties:**
+ Lead the development of innovative packaging solutions across the product portfolio from concept through commercialization.
+ Refine and implement a multi-year sustainability plan aligned with organizational goals.
+ Design and execute technical testing to validate package design and performance, including developing new test methods when necessary.
+ Lead packaging development projects, ensuring technical rigor and the achievement of project deliverables.
+ Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Process, Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, and Regulatory teams to drive packaging innovations.
+ Apply technical expertise to recommend new materials, suppliers, and processes to enhance packaging performance.
+ Create detailed specifications and processing standards for packaging systems.
+ Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plans to ensure project success.
+ Continuously seek opportunities to improve existing processes and packaging technologies.
**Skills:**
+ Strong technical expertise in packaging design, materials science, and sustainability initiatives.
+ Experience in managing cross-functional teams and leading packaging development projects.
+ Proficient in packaging testing and validation methods, with the ability to develop new test protocols.
+ Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and drive innovation.
+ Strong project management skills, with the ability to balance multiple projects and deliver on time.
+ Familiarity with sustainability frameworks and goals within packaging development.
**Experience:**
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience leading packaging solutions from ideation to market launch, including managing technical testing and performance validation.
+ Proven track record of managing and executing multiple packaging projects simultaneously.
+ Experience working in packaging roles in consumer goods, CPG, or similar industries.
+ Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including product development, marketing, and supply chain.
**Education:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Packaging, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
**Additional Requirements:**
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of stakeholders.
+ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
+ Ability to work independently and proactively to meet project deadlines.

The expected base salary for this position is $ 46.55 per hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefits package is also offered.
