The Margin Strategy and Investment Optimization (MSIO) organization is responsible for driving Microsoft Cloud & AI capacity, margin excellence and resource allocation rigor across Microsoft’s portfolio. Within MSIO, the Investment Optimization Strategy finance team is an exciting and fast-evolving team that partners deeply with engineering leaders to ensure $20B+ resources across ~100K Full Time Employees (FTEs) are continuously aligned to strategic engineering priorities.
We currently have an opening for a Senior Finance Manager, O365 & AI Engineering, to join the Experiences + Devices (E+D) Engineering finance team. This covers a wide range of responsibilities, which includes modeling and business analysis, partnering with engineering leaders on resource allocation decisions, and creation and ownership of efficient financial processes. As a motivated and agile system thinker, you demonstrate intellectual curiosity and navigate ambiguity and complexity to be the trusted finance advisor to our engineering leaders, as well as drive success for our business partners.
This role enables you to develop a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) mindset and influence leadership to drive expense management and resource allocation decisions. You will continuously align investments and costs with a prioritized engineering product roadmap and be part of a highly driven team with an emphasis on fun!

**Responsibilities**
+ Business Health: Drive process excellence while partnering across Engineering to continuously assess portfolio health by reviewing key drivers to identify opportunities, risks, and tradeoffs. Ensure resources and investments are constantly aligned with business strategy, product engineering roadmaps, and company priorities.
+ Resource Analysis: Build a cohesive story by incorporating business insights through resource allocation and workforce planning, as well as understanding the connection with the overall financial performance. Analyze results to understand performance against plan/forecast. Monitor trends and key levers to support various rhythm of the business and finance.
+ Engineering Partnership: Provide strategic leadership to Engineering leaders to drive operating leverage through resource allocation and investment optimization. Give visibility to the current resource landscape, analyzing macro-level results and applying systems thinking to identify and recommend levers to influence decision-making.

**Qualifications**
Required/Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field
+ OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field
+ OR equivalent experience.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 8+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership or Finance work experience
+ OR Masters Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 6+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ 1+ year(s) experience in multinationals with multi-product/multi-segment finance roles.
+ 1+ year(s) work experience in matrix-based organization.
+ 1+ year(s) work experience in the technology or software industry.
+ Financial analysis experience in a high-tech company; Understanding the technology industry, particularly in commercial cloud services, business models and economics.
+ Driven self-starter capable of effectively prioritizing and operating with a high degree of ambiguity in a fast-paced and changing environment; Interpersonal and cross group collaboration skills.
+ Ability to partner, build trust, and communicate with and influence executives; Ability to make the complex simple and influence through effective storytelling.
+ Ability to influence and impact without authority, operate in ambiguity and solve difficult problems, and prioritize, function well and drive simplicity in a complex and matrixed environment.
+ Proficiency with combining, structuring, and mining large volumes of data from disparate sources, using tools such as Power BI, Excel, SQL, etc.
+ Microsoft Excel proficiency and familiarity with using advanced functions and charting capabilities.
Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,600 - $183,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $122,000 - $200,500 per year.
