Senior Software Engineer

The Core OS team is looking for a talented Senior Software Engineer to design and implement new tools as well as contribute to existing systems to ensure new virtualization technology meets the high bar of quality we promise to our customers.

**Responsibilities**

o Contribute to the development of automation within production and deployment of product features.

o Develop tools running in simulated, or other non-production environments to confirm functionality and error-free runtime.

o Collaborate with other engineers and teams across Azure to deliver end-to-end solutions.

o Design and implement telemetry systems to provide observability into feature/system behavior and performance.

o Collect and analyze data on various metrics (e.g., system health, bug occurrence). Provide insights from data analysis to improve product features.

**Qualifications**

**R** **equired Qualifications:**

+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, or Python

+ OR equivalent experience.

+ 4+ years of experience in data analysis and visualization

+ 4+ years of software product development with a focus on quality, including QA, code reviews, bug tracking, and metrics.

**Other** :

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Solid design, development, and testing skills

+ Experience owning scenarios end-to-end across multiple components

+ Writing code in both managed and native languages

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
