As part of GPSO, the Xbox Services & Operations (XSO) team mission is to build and maintain services enabling increased customer engagement plus player growth across the Microsoft Gaming eco-system. A significant part of this responsibility involves adopting and/or creating Cloud Solutions. We leverage Azure Cloud platform capabilities; along with investing in the engineering of complementary Observability and Manageability solutions to run our Gaming business. We use this approach to apply consistent and scalable solutions across existing Xbox services, aiding in broad adoption across our Gaming business partners and consulting with acquisitions to assure their migrations to Azure Cloud are executed successfully with high degrees of Operational Excellence. The end objective being assurance that all systems within our Microsoft Gaming portfolio are operating on modern cloud capabilities thus eliminating the burdens and risks associated with dedicated infrastructure and/or legacy solutions. This role requires developing good working relationships across business partners in Gaming, aiding in creating unified cloud adoption plans and ultimately assisting with consultation or engineering execution of the migrations.
The Xbox Accounts and Family Team owns and builds experiences involving: Gaming Accounts, GamerTags, Gamer’s Family, Parental Controls and Safety controls for Children, Account Sign up experiences for all users among many other things.
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help us build highly scalable, available and resilient Cloud Services that power the future Xbox Accounts, Family and Child experiences across many platforms and device types such as: Mobile devices, Web browsers, Consoles, PCs, Handhelds.
These experiences range from: Sign up of Children, Parental Controls, Child Safety controls, Activity reporting etc. for both Parents/Guardians and Children, Compliance and regulatory requirements in this space.
As a member of our team you will have opportunity to design and develop low-latency (single digit milliseconds) massively-scaled (billions of requests) geo-distributed cloud services using a microservices architecture. You will have opportunities to collaborate with a wide variety of partners including Game Pass, Xbox Console, xCloud, Store, Microsoft Accounts, etc. to shape future investments in Family and Child experiences space and build services to support new scenarios that will accelerate growth of gaming business. **Qualifications**
**Required/Minimum Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ Passion for building, developing world class high scale distributed Cloud Services.
+ Solid problem solving and debugging skills associated with production services.
+ Good interpersonal skills such as: building relationships, receive and provide honest feedback from peers and partners, supporting your team.
**Preferred/Additional Qualifications:**
+ A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering.
+ Relevant experience and passion in the gaming and services space.
+ Experience in Identity and Access management.
+ Experience creating and managing Cloud services using Kubernetes.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
