Cloud Engineer

The successful applicant will provide ownership of and be performing work in FedRAMP or IL-5 type environments, and therefore, must be a U.S. Person (i.e. U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, asylee, or refugee). This position may also perform work that the U.S. government has specified can only be performed by a U.S. citizen on U.S. soil.

We are a small team within the Talos ecosystem that develops and maintains the cloud platforms used by groups throughout the Cisco Security Business Group.

Who you’ll work with:

You are an engineer who is passionate about DevOps and building deployment automation that enables automated configuration, management, and scalability of cloud microservices and infrastructure processes. The successful applicant for this position will bring system level mentality to provide DevOps support to our end-to-end solutions so that all products covered in this offering function correctly.

What you'll do:

* We want you to help engineer, implement and expand Cisco cloud infrastructure security micro-services.

* Maintain the full lifecycle of services for the day-to-day systems operation functions of the Talos Backend platform using tools such as Kubernetes, GitHub and GitHub Actions.

* Maintain services by monitoring and measuring availability, latency, and overall system health. You'll drive improvements by introducing new technologies or developing new tools.

* Resolve Talos Backend issues by implementing long term fixes and automation to avoid repeat failures in the future.

* Collaborate with Developers, QA and Automation team members to ensure successful completion, deployment, integration, maintenance, and operations of solutions, focusing on scalability and reliability.

* Support the preparation and maintenance of FedRAMP documentation, including System Security Plans (SSPs) and software architecture diagrams.

* You champion the Software Development Process, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery processes.

* Participate in the weekly on-call rotation along with the rest of the team.

Minimum Qualifications:

* 4+ years' experience as a DevOps, Cloud Operations, Site Reliability, Systems or Software Engineer involved in the automation of systems processes.

* 4+ years’ experience with AWS technologies, including but not limited to EKS, Spark, Lambda, etc.

* 4+ years of scripting languages (Python)

Preferred Qualifications:

* 2+ years’ experience in DNS (Domain Name System)

* AWS GovCloud and FedRAMP experience is highly desirable

* You're no stranger to software development using Agile/Scrum practices

* Experience with open-source technologies such as Docker, Kafka, etc is also desired.

* Experience with security software (Web or email security a big plus)

* You have strong communication and collaboration skills

* You have at least BA/BS in Computer Science / Computer Engineering or related technical field.
