Vice President, Tax

**Role**

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Vice President of Global Tax is responsible for Applied’s overall tax strategy including all components of tax planning, the accounting for income taxes, compliance, and tax audits. The Vice President of Global Tax will work with advisors, service providers, financial auditors, the Audit Committee and other tax professionals in carrying out his or her responsibilities. The Vice President of Global Tax will regularly report to the Company’s Board of Directors and/or Committees of the Board to update the members on the Company’s tax strategy, practices and exposures.

**Key Responsibilities**

+ Work closely with the executive team in setting the overall long-term strategy for tax. Communicate with senior management on significant tax matters, including the impact of potential as well as new or modified tax laws

+ Given the significant potential changes in international taxation, specifically assess and modify Applied’s global structure as necessary

+ Provide and deliver strategic tax planning to drive lower effective global tax rates. Similarly, support operational initiatives focusing on any tax implications

+ Ensure efficient, timely, and complete processing of internal and external tax reporting and minimization of tax obligations of the Company

+ Ensure appropriate issue analysis and negotiation of audit settlements with taxing authorities

+ Utilizing a collaborative management style, lead the tax department to develop, motivate and retain top talent

+ Excellent communicator and educator of others that is respectful; able to translate tax rules and concepts into clear actionable information

+ Has the experience and judgment to initiate, plan, execute, and complete goals timely

+ Excellent analytic, technical tax, organizational and project management skills

+ Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting; CPA, JD, Master’s Degree, or other form of advanced education preferred

+ 10+ years of tax function leadership experience with a US global manufacturing company that operates in multiple countries tied to foreign operations

+ Very strong US international tax skills. Proven experience managing international tax structures, including those with non-US IP ownership and sophisticated transfer prices, along with related US considerations such as GILTI, FDII, and BEAT

+ Structured work approach with ability to manage and develop talent to achieve highly valuable results

+ Has the personal drive, passion, and enthusiasm to successfully navigate multiple demands in a dynamic and fast-paced environment

**U.S. Salary Range:**

$280,000.00 - $385,000.00

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
