Cloud Platform team develops and enhances self-service cloud platform capabilities, including continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) tooling, core observability frameworks, and new ‘tip of the spear’ functionality . Your Responsibilities   

+ Design, Deploy and maintain cloud-based infrastructure based on AWS. 

+ Participates in design of cloud application architecture to ensure scalability, availability, observability and security. 

+ Design and implement infrastructure automation including CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IOC) and Site Reliability 

+ Assists in the evaluation and operationalization of new tools, technologies and cloud services. 

+ Contributes to and promotes best practices and guidelines to ensure continuous improvement in the Cloud Platform 

+ Participates in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours production support. 

Your Experience, Skills & Competencies   

+ Bachelor's degree in related field required or equivalent experience. 

+ Master’s degree in related field preferred  

+ Hands on experience with one or more of the following 

+ One or more scripting languages (Python, Bash, Ruby, Powershell , or Groovy) 

+ Log aggregation and monitoring tools such as ELK, CloudWatch, Sensu, Prometheus. 

+ Cloud automation templating (CloudFormation or Terraform) 

+ Configuration management and deployment automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Salt, or Chef. 

+ Continuous Integration and DevOps toolchain technologies such as Jenkins, Git and Nexus 

+ Demonstrates key competencies to include 

+ Must be a self-starter and motivated to work with others to accomplish goals with minimal supervision. 

+ Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment, both independently and collaboratively 

+ Ability to embrace change and adapt to new technologies quickly. 

Your Team   

This is an individual contributor role that will report to the Manager Cloud Platform Engineering . You will have at least 3 - 5 peer teammate (s) and collaborate with cross functional departments on a regular basis.   

Your Work Location  

As our Cloud Platform Engineer 1 , you will be based in our beautiful, state-of-the-art technology hub in Scottsdale, AZ. In October 2021, Choice opened a newly constructed world class technology center. 

Right now, our associates in Scottsdale, AZ are working in a hybrid environment, up to 4 days per week in the office and virtual from your home office the remaining days. We provide flexibility and encourage ongoing communication with your leadership to establish expectations about your unique needs.
