LPN Ambulatory - Ob/Gyn Clinic

In the Ob/Gyn Clinic, you will assist with patient care under the direction of registered nurses or physicians. As part of this collaborative team, you will be perform daily care activities, document patient care, administer medication, observe patients' health and maintain medical equipment and supplies. Your role is crucial for improving patient safety, reducing the potential for errors and decreasing response times to patient requests. Additionally, you will gain access to numerous online and in-person courses for developing your career and climbing the Professional Ladder.

**A caregiver in this position works from 9:00AM - 5:30PM and 8:30AM - 5:00PM.**

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

+ Provide patient care activities under the direction of a Registered Nurse and/or physician.

+ Collect and document objective and subjective data and observations about patients.

+ Complete nursing assessments and report all data.

+ Implement the current nursing care plan, medication or treatment and communicate patients' responses.

+ Observe patients for adverse reactions to medications or treatments.

+ Perform routine laboratory tests.

+ Educate patients and family members.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

+ Graduate of an approved school of Practical Nursing

+ Current Ohio license as a Licensed Practice Nurse

+ Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

+ One year of patient care experience

**Physical Requirements:**

+ Full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity and good hand-eye coordination

+ Extensive standing walking and occasional lifting

+ Corrected vision and hearing to normal range

+ Working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours

+ Some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids

+ Medium Work, exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects

+ Physical Demand requirements in excess of those for Light Work

+ Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required
