The worldwide Apple Retail Engagement & Marketing (REM) team defines, makes and delivers programs, campaigns, initiatives and experiences that help Apple Retail’s customers and teams discover, be inspired by, learn about and go further with Apple’s products and services, and does so in a manner that is true to our values. The Business Affairs Operations Lead is responsible for ensuring efficient and effective creative production processes, strategic planning, vendor management, contract negotiations, and compliance with Apple legal policies, requirements and the brand’s values. This role involves maintaining and growing creative production executions, managing the Creative Production Operations team, and collaborating with internal partners to achieve REM and Apple objectives. The ideal candidate has deep experience in creative production excellence, IP analysis, licensing, legal interfacing, cross functional partnerships and problem solving.
**Description**
This role will lead the Creative Production Operations team and play a crucial role in ensuring that creative concepts and content production meets legal and operational standards while maintaining brand integrity and cultural sensitivity. The team also oversees the legal and business aspects of multiple and concurrent projects, providing expert guidance and support on IP, contractual, and brand reputation matters. As the lead for the team you will oversee the work of contractors/vendors and help lead the work of full time employees, as well as be responsible for these activities yourself. Collaboration across teams is essential, as is the ability to communicate complex issues clearly and effectively. Additional responsibilities include: - Lead the work of the Creative Production Operations team, overseeing and participating in multiple intellectual property, content creation and clearance, and marketing projects simultaneously. - Guide the team and your own projects through the evaluation of creative concepts for potential legal and operational issues and track progress with attention to legal and business implications throughout all phases. - Support production, clearance, and usage of content created by REM, other Apple teams, or external entities, ensuring compliance with relevant guideline for yourself and others. - Provide thoughtful analysis and guidance on contracts, intellectual property concerns, navigating and anticipating ambiguous areas in content creation and usage. - Lead the assessment of content through a lens of legal, brand, PR, and cultural sensitivities, while considering the impact on customer and employee privacy and experience, and retail store processes and logistics.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ 7+ years of experience in business affairs or creative production within a marketing organization, in-house or creative agency environment
+ Knowledge and understanding of intellectual property, content creation and clearance, and marketing

+ Professional experience, knowledge and understanding of IP rights management, administration and analysis
+ Outstanding leadership, interpersonal and relationship management skills to successfully lead engaged and high performing teams (project and operational)

+ High level communication skills to produce, interpret and edit complex technical concepts, creative briefs and resourcing plans
+ Experience consulting and negotiating at a senior management level with solid understanding of intellectual property rights, preferably gained from experience working in a creative content production and/or agency environment
+ Experience in directly leading a team of individual contributors and contractors
+ International marketing experience
+ Music licensing experience
+ Experiential marketing experience
+ Ability to distill complex and nuanced information customized to the relevant audience

+ At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,900 and $269,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
