Northrop Grumman’s Mission Systems sector Marine Logistic Support (MLS) is looking for a Senior Staff Chief Engineer. Full-time telework may be considered for this role from within the continental U. S. or hybrid at the Sunnyvale, CA location.

The primary objective will be the definitive technical authority for all aspects of engineering on all program elements (hardware/software/support/test) and leads a multi-disciplined engineering team managing the technical performance of the program helping to meet cost and schedule requirements including subcontracted elements. Coordinates requirements development, hardware/software design, verification, and validation activities. Ensures that the program is adhering to sound engineering processes in the development, production, test and sustainment of products for our customers and is compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards. Maintains cognizance over technical activities within program IPTs and ensures horizontal integration of the best engineering practices across the company. Continually coordinates with the systems engineering and program integration team (PIT) leader to ensure the execution of program statement of work and baselines and serves as the technical point of contact with the customer.

The Senior Staff Chief Engineer will provide technical guidance and leadership to the field test engineers supporting MLS field projects to assure continued support to our customers on new and legacy hardware as well as aid MLS management on proposals and customers’ requests for field support.

**Basic Qualifications:**

+ Bachelor’s Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline with 14 years relevant work experience; or Master’s Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline with 12 years relevant work experience.

+ Experience leading the performance of tasks on schedule, at cost and achieving all requirements as either project lead, integrated program team or cost account manager

+ Demonstrated success leading teams/and or organizations to achieve a common goal

+ A current/active DoD Secret Clearance

+ Experience using benchtop instrumentation (e.g. spectrum analyzers and digital multimeters).

+ Ability to interpret basic circuit diagrams.

+ Must be willing to work night shift.

+ Must be willing to work at field sites up to 10% of the time.

+ U.S. Citizenship required

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering Industry experience related to testing and troubleshooting

+ Experience troubleshooting analog or high-voltage circuitry

+ Programming and/or automation experience (e. g. MATLAB, Python, C/C++, C#, and Visual Basic)

+ PLC programming experience (e.g. Allen Bradley)

+ Experience testing magnetic bearings or other rotating machinery

+ Acoustics, dynamics, or control-systems testing experience

+ Experience using multi-channel data acquisition (DAQ) systems

+ Experience testing large structures

+ Systems-Engineering experience

**Salary Range:** $166,500 - $274,700

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
